Constitution and Rules - Addendum A
1. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS EXPECTED OF A CAT JUDGE
1.1 A judge should have a formal qualification, obtained from a reputable organization.
1.2 A judge should reply within reasonable time to invitations from a cat club.
1.3 A judge should ensure that all essential information about a show is received on time, including venue, time and format of the show.
1.4 A judge should be presented in an acceptable and professional manner, including all clothing, jewellery and general behaviour.
1.5 A judge may not judge any cat belonging to the judge’s household or immediate family.
1.6 A judge should be objective and professional during all judging assignments and towards; exhibitors, show officials, stewards, student judges and the general public.
1.7 A judge should not enter into disputes or arguments with exhibitors or others on the day of the show, or afterwards, including comments on social media platforms.
1.8 A judge should be familiar with the Standard of Points used and the Format of the show where he/she is officiating.
2. BEHAVIOUR WITH CLUB MATTERS
2.1 A judge should be an active member of at least one club and offer help, advice and expertise where necessary. A judge should ideally also be actively involved in the arrangement of shows and assistance of breeder members of a club.
3. RESPONSIBILITY TO REMAIN UP TO DATE
3.1 A judge should remain up to date with changes in Standards, Rules and the Constitution of his/her organisation. This includes attending seminars, when available.
4. BEHAVIOUR DURING BEST IN SHOW
4.1 No discussion or consultation with fellow judges during Best in Show.
A cat may be handled, if it was not judged earlier, but not examined in detail for small faults, as the cat was already examined for this by the nominating judge.
5. EXPULSION AND DISCIPLINE
5.1 A judge who does not abide by the Guild's Code of Ethics, as given above, or who brings the Guild into disrepute by his/her behavior will be subject to disciplinary action, which may result in suspension or expulsion from the Guild.
